Successful people sometimes showcase their fabulous lifestyle, luxurious homes, high octane sports cars, exotic holidays and champagne dinners on Facebook.

It’s a bit of harmless fun that titillates friends and relatives…until tabloid journalists come calling.

That’s what happened to Ray and Belinda Bailey. Their idyllic Facebook lifestyle was picture perfect until their family snaps were paraded across the Daily Mail because of their cladding company’s alleged involvement with the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

The newspaper contrasted pictures of their beautiful home with distressing photographs of the fire-ravaged tower block.

Facebook is a frightening place to be when journalists delve into your background and cast you into a cauldron of hate.

The chances are that none of us will end up as targets of a media frenzy but perhaps we should all think twice before sharing intimate details of our personal lives on Facebook.
